On a little ledge of land on the Walensee, 434 m above sea level, lie Quinten and Au. A little piece of land bordered on one side by the lake and on the other side by the steep rock walls of the Churfirsten.
Thanks to the mild climate not only grapes grow here but also figs, kiwis and other tropical fruits. The little village remains car-free until today.
From Weesen via Quinten to Walenstadt or from Murg to Quinten with the direct boat connection run by the Schiffsbetriebs Walensee, hikers and trippers are well served. The connection from Murg to the Mediterranean-like Quinten is operational throughout the year - also worth a trip in winter!
