Angling in Sarganserland

There are numerous opportunities for the sport and hobby angler to make a big catch.

From rainbow trout in mountain streams to pike in the lakes of Giessen and Walen there is a diversity of fish to catch. Most waters belong to the communities concerned. In most cases, a fishing licence is required. It is not transferable and the angler must always be able to produce it on demand.

Lake Giessen in Bad Ragaz is full of pike, tench and a variety of white fish. Fishing licences are issued to persons, minimum age 12 and over. Only daylight fishing permitted.
