Chair-lift Mattstock

Amden

Children up to 16 years of age free of charge if accompanied by their parents!
The chair-lift Mattstock takes you from Amden village up into a wonderful hiking area. At the mountain station (1300m a.s.l.) two taverns (Walau and Holzstübli) tempt you with fine culinary pleasures and children's playgrounds. From the mountain station it is only a stone's throw to the Strichbodenalp, on which every Sunday in summer guests are pampered with a traditional alpine brunch.

The chair-lift mountain station is a popular starting out point for ramblers, climbers (climbing-garden, Schibächnölli) and hang-gliders. The most popular hike is the "Ridgeway" to Arvenbüel. The Ridgeway hike takes about 3 hours and leads past a splendid nature conservation area (high moor). In summer, on lovely weekends a stop at the mountain tavern Altschen can be made.
