High moor in Amden

Amden

A unique high moor of national significance!
He who wanders along the Amden ridge-path comes at the section over the Hintere Höhi through protected moor region: a marshy natural landscape of national importance, overgrown with knee-high mountain pine. On this wet, sour and sterile ground only the skilled survivor can flourish, such as the insect-eating sun dew, the inconspicuous sedge. In the slightly drier boundary area, the so-called heath, whortleberries and alpine roses manage to grow.

Take time and enjoy this unique natural beauty!
