The unknown Weisstannental has several things to offer: visit the backery in Schwendi, visit the old sawmill and visit the dairy with its demonstration of cheesemaking. Or, on the 1 hour Melser Alpine Trail, from illustrated information boards lears something about the 24 alps (summer farm dairies) in the Weisstannental. Start from Restaurant Alp Siez.
All in all, in one summer, almost 20,000 kg of different types of cheese will be made in the modern dairy. In addition to that are many dairy products fresh from the alp.
